Calgary-based SkyFire Energy has reached a major milestone, surpassing 10 MegaWatts (MW) of installed solar power across nearly 60 Alberta communities in partnership with homebuilder Jayman BUILT.
The achievement marks a significant step in Alberta’s renewable energy transition, with SkyFire bringing its expertise to nearly 4,000 homes since 2018.
As a Certified B Corporation with over two decades of experience in renewable energy, SkyFire Energy has played a crucial role in integrating solar power into residential construction. Through its collaboration with Jayman BUILT, the company has installed 28,262 solar modules, generating enough clean energy annually to power 14.7 million laundry loads or drive an electric vehicle around the world 1,830 times.
“Partnering with Jayman to make solar energy accessible to thousands of homeowners exemplifies the power of collaboration in driving meaningful environmental and community impact,” said David Vonesch, CEO of SkyFire Energy. “This milestone demonstrates how two forward-thinking companies can build sustainable communities that offer immediate savings to homeowners while advancing Alberta’s transition to a cleaner, Net Zero future.”
SkyFire Energy’s solar installations not only reduce carbon emissions but also lower utility costs for homeowners, enhancing the long-term value of their properties. As demand for sustainable housing grows, SkyFire continues to lead the charge in making solar energy a standard feature rather than a luxury.
By reaching the 10 MW milestone, SkyFire Energy cements its position as a driving force behind Alberta’s shift to renewable energy, ensuring a more sustainable future for homeowners and communities alike.
