Foresight Canada has announced the formation of the Cleantech Adoption Platform (CAP) Advisory Board, a strategic initiative designed to accelerate the deployment of vetted sustainable technologies across Canadian municipalities and organizations.
The advisory board will provide critical guidance as Foresight prepares to launch the Cleantech Adoption Platform later this year, creating a streamlined pathway for innovators and buyers to connect.
The newly formed board includes leaders from across Canada with expertise in built environment, energy generation and storage, water tech, transportation, and waste management—sectors identified as key priorities for the platform’s initial rollout. The advisory board members are Adrian Dirassar, Senior Legal Counsel; Bofa Udisi, Project Manager for the City of Toronto and Founder of AlphaCor Sustainability Solutions; Samantha Agtarap, Program Manager at powerNEXT with Foresight Canada and a Councillor for Port Moody City Council; and Todd Burns, CEO of Cypher Environmental.
Cleantech deployment in Canada faces two major hurdles: innovators struggle to reach buyers, and buyers need streamlined access to proven, market-ready solutions. The Cleantech Adoption Platform aims to close this gap by providing a centralized hub where industrial and municipal buyers can find curated, high-impact solutions that have reached Technology Readiness Level 8 or higher.
The platform will feature a comprehensive database of cleantech solutions with detailed specifications, case studies highlighting real-world impact, and technology roadmaps designed to support procurement decisions. It will also provide self-guided learning modules for decision-makers, validated assessments such as life cycle analyses and test results, and matchmaking tools to connect buyers with innovators.
Operating within a secure, buyer-focused environment, the platform ensures that only serious buyers can access solution details. It is free for cleantech ventures to list their solutions, making it a valuable tool for companies looking to scale.
The Cleantech Adoption Platform has already onboarded several cleantech ventures, including Lotic Technologies, Asset Market, and Kathairos Solutions. Industry leaders view CAP as a crucial step in scaling Canada’s cleantech sector and meeting net-zero goals faster.
Todd Burns, CEO of Cypher Environmental, emphasized the platform’s role in removing a major barrier to innovation by educating end users and ensuring sustainable solutions are included in procurement contracts. Bofa Udisi, Project Manager for the City of Toronto, described CAP as a game-changer for advancing climate solutions, while Jeanette Jackson, CEO of Foresight Canada, highlighted its potential to strengthen Canada’s economic resilience and global leadership in cleantech.
Set to launch later this year, the Cleantech Adoption Platform is positioned to accelerate cleantech commercialization, reduce emissions, and help industries stay competitive in a low-carbon economy.
