Vancouver-based Miru Smart Technologies has introduced one of the world’s largest electrochromic sunroof window devices, marking a significant advancement for both the smart glass and automotive industries.
The prototype, measuring 1.5 meters by 1.6 meters, demonstrates the scalability of Miru’s eWindows technology and its potential in next-generation vehicle design.
Developed in collaboration with Argotec, a leader in advanced thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) interlayer films, Miru’s dynamic electrochromic sunroof adapts to control glare, optimize energy efficiency, and enhance driving comfort. The large-format, compound-curved window is suited for panoramic sunroofs, expansive glazing, and other automotive applications.

The introduction of this large-format electrochromic sunroof builds on Miru’s Showcase Plant advancements in Finland and aligns with the automotive industry’s push toward intelligent, energy-efficient design.
