Frans Tjallingii, CEO of Vancouver cleantech company 7Gen, has been named Industrial Software Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2025 McRock Industrial Software Awards, held this week at the McRock Symposium in Montreal.
The award recognizes Tjallingii’s leadership in transforming 7Gen from an electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure leasing company into a cutting-edge software platform for managing fleet electrification and charging infrastructure. Today, 7Gen provides intelligent tools that help fleet operators minimize downtime, predict maintenance needs, and optimize EV performance at scale.
“At 7Gen, we believe that the full value of electrification is unlocked only when software and charging infrastructure work seamlessly together,” said Tjallingii in his acceptance speech. “This award validates our mission to democratize fleet decarbonization—transforming complex industrial transitions into turnkey services.”
By integrating agentic AI and industrial systems knowledge, 7Gen’s platform empowers small and mid-sized fleets to access levels of operational intelligence previously reserved for major logistics players. The company has become a key partner for transportation, utility, and logistics firms navigating the shift to sustainable operations.
The annual McRock Awards, hosted by McRock Capital, celebrate software pioneers reshaping large industrial sectors. Winners in other categories this year included Autodesk and HData.
