Solenery Simplifies Canada’s Path to Clean Energy

September 9, 2025 by Robert Lewis

Canada’s clean energy transition hinges not only on policy and technology, but on the everyday decisions of households and businesses. Yet for many Canadians, the path to installing solar panels or adopting other net-zero solutions remains unclear, with questions about cost, incentives, and trusted providers often stalling progress.

That’s where Solenery comes in. Founded by Arshia Jahangiri, a four-time entrepreneur with deep experience in cleantech and innovation, the AI-powered platform is designed to make clean energy adoption simple, transparent, and confidence-driven. From feasibility snapshots by postal code to streamlined access to rebates, loans, and vetted installers, Solenery bridges the gap between interest and action.

In this interview, Jahangiri shares his journey from filing a rooftop energy patent at age 15 to raising $750K in seed funding for Solenery. He discusses why Canada needs this platform now, how it benefits both homeowners and providers, and what’s next as Solenery scales across the country.

Why does Canada need a platform like Solenery now?

AJ: Canada has a clear roadmap to reduce emissions and to run on cleaner power over time. Households and businesses still face real confusion at the last mile about costs, incentives, and who to trust. Solenery sits where decisions happen. We give people a clear feasibility snapshot, then connect them to vetted providers so projects move from browsing to booked with less friction.

What exactly happens when someone enters a postal code?

AJ: They see projected costs, eligible incentives, and savings estimates in a simple, comparable format. We also surface considerations that matter locally. If they want to proceed, we will introduce vetted providers and keep the process clear and accountable. The aim is to build confidence, not pressure.

How do you think about accuracy, privacy, and trust?

AJ: We focus on transparent inputs and ranges rather than opaque promises. On privacy we collect only what is necessary to deliver estimates and introductions, and we harden the platform to protect that data. Trust is earned when numbers line up with what providers can deliver and when the process respects people’s time.

What is the opportunity for providers and the broader ecosystem?

AJ: Providers spend significant time qualifying interest and re-explaining incentives. We send better-prepared customers who understand the basics, which reduces soft costs and shortens cycle times. At the ecosystem level, this helps translate Canada’s clean-electricity strategy into installations on rooftops across residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.

Cost remains a barrier for many Canadians. How do you address it?

AJ: We can’t change the sticker price of solar or heat pumps, but we can shrink the total cost of ownership by speeding decisions and unlocking financing and incentives. Solenery pre‑qualifies your address with a postal‑code feasibility snapshot (expected bill savings, eligible rebates, and payback) and then handles the paperwork so homeowners can access the Canada Greener Homes Loan (interest‑free financing) and businesses can leverage the Clean Technology Investment Tax Credit where eligible. That means clearer estimates, vetted installers, and money‑saving programs applied correctly the first time. We also work closely with banks, credit unions, and green‑finance providers to expand low‑ and no‑interest options and to stack provincial and utility rebates where available.

Where are you today and what comes next?

AJ: Today, we’ve shipped the Solenery Knowledge Hub and begun publishing clear, bite‑size education across our daily social channels. We’ve also released a clean, no‑friction Energy Snapshot so Canadians can see expected costs, eligible incentives, and projected bill savings for their postal code in minutes. In parallel, we’re hardening our core technology, scaling data pipelines, and upholding strong privacy and security while we run pilots with early users and partners.

Next, we’ll expand provincial coverage, deepen commercial features for businesses and multi‑site operators, and continuously update the Knowledge Hub with grants, rebates, and net‑zero guidance. The goal is a seamless path from learning to action: get your snapshot, understand your options, and confidently move forward.

What gives you confidence this can scale?

AJ: There’s really no other path for Canada than moving toward energy-efficient solutions, from solar to high-efficiency heat pumps, to meet demand and protect the environment. That inevitability is encouraging, and we believe simplifying the process for people will make all the difference.

We’re already seeing early signs of strong interest through our Knowledge Hub, Energy Snapshots, and pilot partners. With the right mix of education, easy access to incentives, and trusted providers, we’re confident this momentum will only grow and scale nationwide.
