Former PEI Environment Minister Joins Foresight Canada’s Executive Team

October 20, 2025 by Newsdesk

Foresight Canada has announced the appointment of Steven Myers, former Minister of Environment, Energy, and Climate Action for Prince Edward Island, as its new Vice President of Partnerships.

Myers brings more than 14 years of government experience to the organization, where he will lead Foresight’s partnerships strategy to strengthen strategic networks and secure collaborations that accelerate cleantech adoption across Canada and beyond.

During his time in government, Myers held several key portfolios, including Transportation, Environment, and Housing. His leadership helped advance Prince Edward Island from ninth to second in Efficiency Canada’s energy efficiency rankings, and he spearheaded major climate initiatives such as PEI’s Building Resilience: Climate Adaptation Plan, introduced in October 2022.

“I am closing one chapter to focus on another in a space I am deeply passionate about: combating climate change through the adoption of innovative, homegrown solutions,” said Myers. “Despite stepping away from politics, this means I will continue to build a better future for the people of PEI and for all Canadians.”

Foresight Canada’s interim CEO, David Sanguinetti, welcomed Myers to the executive team. “Steven’s deep expertise in climate policy, along with his proven track record of driving government initiatives to meet ambitious net zero targets and strengthen community resilience, will be invaluable as we work to implement a sustainable future economy,” Sanguinetti said.

Myers joins a national leadership team that includes Sanguinetti in Vancouver; Amanda Lo, VP of Acceleration in Calgary; Heather Crochetiere, VP of Technology Adoption in Toronto; Michelle Pavlik, VP of Communications in Kelowna; and Lisa Djakalovic, Director of Human Resources in Toronto.
