As Canada races to decarbonize and strengthen its climate defences, NorthX Climate Tech is investing in the next generation of homegrown solutions.
The organization has announced two new Calls for Innovation—Industrial Decarbonization and Wildfire Tech—offering up to $6 million in non-dilutive funding to help Canadian technologies scale faster, cut emissions, and boost national resilience.
2025 Industrial Decarbonization Call
Up to $3 million in non-dilutive funding is available for innovators developing commercial pathways to scale hard-tech industrial decarbonization solutions across British Columbia’s major emitting sectors.
As markets shift toward low-carbon products, companies that adopt clean technologies can reduce costs, attract investment, and strengthen long-term competitiveness.
Eligible applicants are Canadian companies advancing industrial decarbonization solutions at TRL 4–9, with priority given to TRL 6–9 and B.C.-based innovators. Projects may include pilots, demonstrations, system integrations, mitigation or monitoring technologies, and business-model innovations.
2025 Wildfire Tech Call
Another $3 million will support innovators developing technologies that detect, prevent, manage, or recover from wildfires with measurable emission impacts.
Canada faces growing economic, environmental, and social risks from increasingly severe wildfires. By combining forest management expertise, traditional ecological knowledge, research capacity, and community partnerships, innovators can help lead global efforts in wildfire resilience.
Eligible applicants include Canadian companies developing wildfire technologies at TRL 4–9, with preference for projects showing strong impact in B.C. and across Canada.
