Foresight Canada Unveils 2025 Foresight 50: A Snapshot of Cleantech Excellence

November 5, 2025 by Newsdesk

Canadian cleantech continues to accelerate toward global leadership. In Calgary last night, Foresight Canada revealed its 5th annual Foresight 50, a list of the nation’s most investible and impactful cleantech ventures.

The 2025 cohort is the first in the competition’s history composed entirely of new honourees — a signal of just how deep and dynamic the country’s innovation pipeline has become. From carbon utilization in Alberta to sustainable aquaculture on the Atlantic coast, these ventures are redefining what “Made in Canada” cleantech means.

“These honourees represent some of the most exciting prospects coming out of Canada’s cleantech ecosystem,” said David Sanguinetti, Interim CEO of Foresight Canada. “Their innovation is actively transforming traditional industries into new strengths, securing economic competitiveness, and creating positive change in our communities and daily lives.”

“Cleantech innovation is Canada’s greatest opportunity for sustainable growth and global leadership,” added Brittany Goldhawke, Foresight’s Director of Earth Tech and Investor Relations. “By backing these ventures, we’re investing in Canada’s capacity to lead the low-carbon transition.”

A spotlight on Canada’s Cleantech map:

  • Atlantic Canada: Aeon Blue (Nova Scotia) and DeNova (Halifax) are transforming waste carbon and nutrients into valuable resources.
  • Québec: Geosapiens (Québec City) and CAPSolar (Montréal) are advancing climate risk intelligence and solar energy solutions.
  • Ontario: Evercloak (Kitchener) and Picketa Systems (Fredericton-born, now scaling into Ontario) are streamlining advanced materials and ag-tech analytics.
  • Prairies: Carbonova and Azolla Hydrogen (Calgary) are tackling industrial emissions with carbon-to-value and clean hydrogen breakthroughs.
  • British Columbia: Hydron Energy (North Vancouver) and REN Energy (Kelowna) are building the province’s renewable fuel future.

The annual Foresight 50 Showcase connects these innovators with climate-focused investors and industry partners, helping close Canada’s clean technology funding gap and bring solutions from lab to market.
