5 Canadian Clean Energy Companies to Watch at Global Energy Show

June 2, 2026 by Stephen Lewis

Global Energy Show Canada returns to Calgary from June 9 to 11, 2026, bringing substantial economic impact to the province while further solidifying Alberta’s position as a global leader in energy.

Hosted at Calgary’s BMO Centre, Global Energy Show Canada is the country’s largest energy marketplace and one of its most influential industry gatherings. The event will welcome more than 30,000 attendees, over 500 exhibitors, and delegates from more than 100 countries.

As clean energy continues to gain momentum across Canada, we are highlighting homegrown companies which are developing technologies that can help shape the country’s next phase of energy growth.

From biogas and lithium recovery to water treatment, natural hydrogen, and methane reduction, Canadian companies are showing the range of innovation now moving through the energy sector.

Here’s a look at 5 Canadian clean energy companies to watch at this year’s event.

Anessa – Fredericton, New Brunswick

Fredericton-based Anessa has developed an AI-powered digital twin platform for biogas and renewable natural gas projects. The software helps developers, operators, utilities, and investors model, optimize, and monitor anaerobic digestion projects from feasibility through daily operations. Its platform is designed to improve project bankability, resilience, and profitability while supporting decarbonization.

H2nanO – Kitchener, Ontario

H2nanO Inc., based in Kitchener, is developing SolarPass, a passive photocatalytic water treatment platform for oil sands process-affected water. Using buoyant catalysts and natural solar UV light, SolarPass treats persistent contaminants without added chemicals, external energy, or complex infrastructure. The company has scaled the technology through a major pilot at Imperial’s Kearl site.

Kathairos Solutions – Calgary, Alberta

Kathairos Solutions is a Calgary company focused on eliminating routine methane venting from oil and gas operations. Its patented system uses liquid nitrogen to power pneumatic controllers and pumps, fully displacing methane without grid power, rotating equipment, or ongoing maintenance. The technology is designed for large-scale deployment in remote field conditions.

Litus – Calgary, Alberta

Calgary’s Litus Inc. has developed a nanotechnology-enabled lithium separation platform for both primary resources and recycled materials. Its LiNC technology targets lithium recovery from brines and industrial waters, while ReLiGN applies the same material science to battery recycling streams. The company is helping support more sustainable lithium supply chains for clean energy.

MAX Power Mining – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

MAX Power Mining Corp. is advancing one of Canada’s most intriguing emerging clean energy opportunities: natural hydrogen. The Saskatoon-based company has reported successful drilling and testing of the Lawson well near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, and is also advancing a second discovery well at Bracken. Natural hydrogen remains early, but it is attracting growing attention as a potential low-carbon energy source.

Together, these companies show the breadth of Canada’s clean energy ecosystem. They also reflect how innovation in the sector is no longer limited to one technology, one region, or one energy source.

Global Energy Show Canada 2026 will provide a major platform for these companies and others working to commercialize cleaner, more efficient, and more resilient energy technologies.
