Energy Disruptors: UNITE has added entrepreneur and venture capitalist Arlene Dickinson and Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas to its 2026 speaker lineup.
Taking place September 28–29 at Calgary’s BMO Centre, the global energy leadership summit will bring together founders, investors, policymakers and executives to examine the forces reshaping energy systems and the wider economy.
Dickinson, Founder and General Partner of District Ventures Capital and a longtime venture capitalist on CBC’s Dragons’ Den, will contribute to conversations about entrepreneurship, investment and building companies in a rapidly changing economic environment.
Farkas, Calgary’s 38th mayor, will bring a civic perspective to discussions about infrastructure, affordability, investment, talent and economic competitiveness. His appearance comes as cities face growing pressure to support energy development while managing population growth and increasing demands on infrastructure.
The summit’s program will explore energy security, artificial intelligence, electrification, emerging technologies and the practical challenges of scaling new infrastructure and solutions. Organizers say the event will consider how countries can build energy systems that are resilient, reliable, affordable and capable of supporting rising demand.
Dickinson and Farkas join previously announced speakers including Canadian author Margaret Atwood, former United Kingdom prime minister Lord David Cameron and economist Tyler Cowen.
