Energy Star Awards Recognize Efficient Products and Buildings Across Canada

October 7, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas

Environment and Climate Change Canada has revealed the recipients of the 2026 Energy Star Awards.

Now celebrating its 25th year, the Energy Star Canada program recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership in promoting energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, and industrial facilities across Canada.

“For 25 years, Energy Star Canada has helped Canadians save energy and save money,” stated Julie Dabrusin, who serves as Minister of the Environment.

By adopting technologies and practices with “lasting environmental and economic benefits,” organizations can become “ambassadors of energy efficiency” and help make it easier for Canadians to choose efficient products and lower their energy costs, according to the government.

Amongst buildings, Sun Life’s Waterloo offices earned “Building of the Year – Office,” while Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Nova Scotia was recognized as “Building of the Year – Hospital.”

For builders, Maple City Homes, Huron Creek Developments, and Empire Homes were celebrated.

Amongst manufacturers, Samsung was named Manufacturer of the Year for Appliances while Panasonic was recognized as the top manufacturer of efficient heating and cooling products.

Other brands celebrated by Energy Star in 2026 include LG, Home Depot, and Mits Airconditioning.

A total of 15 organizations, nine buildings, three builders, and two industrial facilities were recognized this year.

“Today’s award recipients are demonstrating leadership, innovation, and a commitment to building a more affordable, energy-efficient future,” Dabrusin remarked. “Congratulations to all winners and partners who continue to help Canadians make smart energy choices.”
