Energy Influencers Conference: Shaping the Future of Canada’s Energy Industry

June 12, 2025 by Stephen Lewis

A bold new initiative at the Global Energy Show Canada 2025, the Energy Influencers Conference brought together the next generation of energy leaders, seasoned professionals, entrepreneurs, and students. It took place in Calgary from June 10-12 and focused on blending technical expertise with forward-thinking discussions to tackle the future of energy.

The conference was designed as an interactive, curated, and inclusive space where community leaders and technical experts could connect. Attendees engaged in expert-led discussions, tech talks, and cross-industry networking across three themed theatres: Oil & Gas, New Energy, and AI & Digitalization.

“This new conference is about moving people forward in incremental steps,” says Benjamin Kemp, CEO of Ambyint, a leader in AI-driven optimization for upstream oil and gas wells. “We’re advancing technology’s role, but it’s being done at a pace that aligns with the sector’s realities, making it more accessible and impactful.”

The Energy Influencers Conference offered companies an exceptional platform to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and connect with potential partners. Company representatives played a key role in shaping the event’s programming. Calgary-based companies leading the way included Ambyint, Ayrton Energy, Crux OCM, Eavor, Ethox Energy, Kanin Energy, NanosTech, and VL Energy. Additionally, companies from across Canada were represented, including Triple Point from St. John’s, Deep Sky and GHGSat from Montreal, AltaML from Edmonton, CRWN.ai from Kelowna, and Svante from Burnaby, B.C.

“This type of conference connects companies like ours to an audience that’s eager to hear about new technologies and explore partnerships,” says Adam Marsden, Chief Revenue Officer of Crux OCM, a company bringing leading-edge automation to control room operations. “It’s the perfect venue to demonstrate how we’re advancing industrial automation.”

For CRWN.ai, a company that is innovating in the utility sector with line sensing technology, the Energy Influencers Conference provided vital exposure. “It’s challenging for ventures like ours to reach commercialization stage,” says Brittany Courvoisier-Nicol, CEO and Co-Founder of CRWN.ai. “Being at a conference where people are eager to hear our story and seek out ways to support us is really valuable.”

The companies involved this year represent just a few of the innovative leaders in the Canadian energy space. Their focus on modernizing energy production, optimizing operations, and reducing environmental impact is crucial as the industry moves towards a more sustainable future.

With a blend of fresh ideas and engaging discussions, the Energy Influencers Conference promises to be a key forum for shaping the future of Canada’s energy industry – and one we hope to see continue growing in the years to come.
